Funkitron Experience






Starting in June 2016, I began working as a programmer and level designer on Cascade at Funkitron. Cascade is a "match-3 slots game" with over 700 hand made levels.

My responsibilities at Funkitron include designing, building, and balancing levels, writing animation code, and implementing new game mechanics. New mechanics and animations involve working iteratively with artists and producers to create something that feels new and unique while still being consistent with the overall game vision and feel.

I am also resposible, in rotation with other designers, for being the macro designer of lands (set of 30 levels). Being the land designer involves choosing a mechanic for the land, planning the story, planning out teaching curves, and setting the overall feel and flow of the land. It also involves reviewing the levels made by other designers and providing them with feedback. I was the land designer for lands 36, 44, and 49.
